Robo-surgeons. Creepy.

Before your next surgery you might want to ask your surgeon if she is warmed up. According to a recent study (referenced here), surgeons who did a dry run on a virtual-reality surgery simulator prior to the real deal performed “way better”. “All the doctors we included in this study said the same thing: they said they could clearly feel the difference in the OR after they had done the warm-up,” said Dr. Grantcharov, one of the authors.

In fact, before long, surgery might become altogether virtual. Telesurgery has been going on for years (see this story, or this one). A little bit cool, a little bit creepy!
